Welcome to the Life at Rest podcast. A collection of gentle, relaxing stories that will hopefully help you to regain a sense of calm and let go of any stresses or anxieties that may be troubling your mind. Listening to a simple story is a nice way to allow yourself to be soothed, I’ve always thought. There is something so reassuring and comforting about it. These stories have been written in such a way, that you needn’t pay too much attention. Nothing complicated, or thrilling will happen. They are just small events, lived simply and relayed in detail. Something easy and serene to play in the background, or as you fall asleep. A friend telling you about her day, while you have a cup of tea. Something peaceful to direct your thoughts away from stresses and onto the myriad rich and wonderful details of uncomplicated moments. This is the basis of mindfulness meditation, and I hope that you find it helpful and relaxing.
